FC St. Pauli emerged victorious from the three-part friendly at SV Werder Bremen on Friday afternoon, Simon Makienok, Lukas Daschner, Borys Tashchy and Igor Matanovic getting the goals for the Boys in Brown in a 4-2 win played out over three 35-minute periods. Bremen twice reduced the deficit through a Christian Viet own goal and a solo effort from Abedenego Nankishi but were unable to ward off the defeat.

FC St. Pauli were beaten 4-1 by Bundesliga outfit SV Werder Bremen in Wednesday's friendly. Werder dominated the first half and led 3-0 at the break thanks to goals from Tahith Cong, Joshua Sargent and Leonardo Bittencourt. A much-improved performance by the Boys in Brown after the interval was rewarded when Borys Tashchy pulled one back on 65, but a second goal for Chong three minutes before the end gave the home side a 4-1 victory.

The Boys in Brown marked the end of their summer training camp in Herzlake with a 2-1 friendly win over SV Meppen on Wednesday afternoon. Borys Tashchy opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the third minute before René Guder levelled for the third-division outfit on 51. But Under-23 striker Christian Stark grabbed a late winner seven minutes from time to end the training camp on a positive note.
