BOUHADDOUZ: "THERE ARE A LOT OF POSITIVES"

After the 1-1 draw against VfL Bochum the mood in the camp was a mixture of disappointment over not taking all three points and optimism after the recent upturn in form. Here's what the players had to say in the mixed zone.

Waldemar Sobota: "We wanted to sign off with another three points. We didn’t manage that and so we're obviously disappointed. We have to accept it and put it behind us, but we can build on the performances in the last three games. Every point will count in the second half of the season and so we'll recuperate now and then go again."

Lasse Sobiech: "We have to live with the result but I think we could have got more from the game, especially with the man advantage. Bochum sat back after the red card and were difficult to penetrate, but we should have scored one more than we did. We go into the winter break with mixed feelings. We've gone three games without a defeat, but we've been unable to secure the win again. The task now is to clear our heads over Christmas and then go into the second half of the season totally focused.“

Philipp Heerwagen: "I would have liked to have saved it, of course, but you have to admit it was really well struck. Nevertheless, we take a good feeling from the last three games. We've picked up points, won away and dominated at the Millerntor. We have to build on that. We'll have a rest now and on 2 January we'll start the back-breaking preparations to be ready to face VfB Stuttgart. Every point and every goal will be vital from then on."

Aziz Bouhaddouz: "Conceding early on was very disappointing and I'm sure the game could have gone differently today. But eleven points are better than ten and we're slowly clawing our way back up. We obviously thought the first half of the season would go differently, but there are a lot of positives to take from here. I'm convinced the second half will be better."

Tim Hoogland (VfL Bochum): "We're absolutely satisfied with the point. You don't experience games and atmospheres like this every day. It was a tough battle after the red card, of course, so we can live well with the point. We go home now and will celebrate Christmas."

Johannes Wurtz (VfL Bochum): "It was a high-intensity game that we could have got more from. We have to live with the point. We battled superbIy a man down and gave as good as we got. St. Pauli put us under enormous pressure. It was an annoying goal to concede but these things can happen."

Manuel Riemman (VfL Bochum): "I saw the cross, went for the ball and after that I don't know what happened. I have to take responsibility for the goal. After the collision with Daniel Buballa I was in awful pain. I'm very sorry. It wasn't deliberate and I'll get in touch with him."
