FC St. Pauli

Head coach Timo Schultz: "I'm obviously delighted that we go back to Hamburg with all three points. Looking at the game as a whole, I think we deserved to win it. We controlled the proceedings for long periods, even if that was what Osnabrück wanted. We had to be careful not to get caught on transition, though, and Osnabrück were a threat from set pieces in particular. We went ahead in the second half with a fortunate penalty and a nice strike and obviously I would have preferred it if we'd added to that and the third goal hadn't been chalked off. It got a bit nervy again towards the end when Osnabrück took more risks and had some chances. We were able to see it over the line, but I'm glad the game didn't go on any longer. If we keep focusing on the tasks and the games ahead of us, we'll continue to perform well and pick up points. We might be able to treat ourselves to three or four days of rest now. The revival over the last seven or eight games has taken it out of us, which I think you've seen in the last three. But we'll go again and try to play out the rest of the season as successfully as possible."

Guido Burgstaller: "It was an important game for us today after the home defeat against Paderborn. We wanted to show a different face and give a better performance, which we did in part today. We started well and had lots of possession but not so many chances. We deserved to win, though, even if it got a bit tight towards the end. All in all, it was a good performance from us, and we can build on that. If keep going like this, we won't need to worry about relegation anymore."

Omar Marmoush: "We started well in the first half and battled hard, though it was a good display from Osnabrück as well. It was nice to get on the scoresheet again and I was only narrowly offside for my second goal. The only important thing was that we got three points today. We can be delighted with that."

Markus Feldhoff (Osnabrück head coach): "In the first 10 or 15 minutes I realised we were up against a confident side. We could hardly escape their stranglehold but eventually fought our way into the game. We showed plenty of bite and had lots of situations where we won the ball well. Perhaps we could have made more of our possession. We had chances from corners and set plays but we have to get ourselves into a position where we score when we're having a good spell and gain momentum as a result. After half-time we conceded the penalty. I haven't watched it back, but I have to say that if the referee gives it and the assistant referee doesn't correct it, then I hope and assume it's clear-cut. We lost our heads a bit after that and conceded a second on the break. We showed good morale, though, kept our belief and pulled a goal back. We threw everything at it towards the end, but it's not as though St. Pauli weren't worth their win."
