MÜLLER: "WE CAN REALLY BUILD ON THE SECOND HALF"

The players were lining up to answer questions after the 2-1 home defeat against Eintracht Frankfurt in the second round of the DFB Cup on Wednesday.

Daniel Buballa: "We struggled to get into the game and come to terms with a strong side. We gave the goals away too easily, but I can't fault the team, we threw ourselves into every tackle. We gave nothing away in the second half even though we had to open up. It's extremely disappointing not to get our reward for the performance and I'm extremely proud of the team!"

Jan-Philipp Kalla: "You can congratulate us, of course, but we're still entitled to be frustrated. The reaction of the fans in the stands told us they were satisfied with the performance. We didn't defend properly on two occasions, which is annoying, but apart from that, the other 80 minutes were OK."

Mats Møller Dæhli: "We were bad in the first quarter of an hour. Frankfurt got two goals from two attacks. We showed character after that. It was an intelligent performance from Frankfurt in the end. All in all, it was a very close game. I'm proud of the team."

Johannes Flum: "I was obviously delighted to start the game but I'm very disappointed with the result because we didn't achieve our objective of progressing to the next round. I think more was possible tonight. Hats off to us for coming back the way we did after going 2-0 down. If we can show the same mentality and football against Karlsruhe, we'll beat them."

Korbinian Müller: "It started looking like I might play two or three days ago and was confirmed yesterday. I was really happy when the coach gave me the chance. Playing here was a good experience for me. The first few minutes could have been better, but I could tell by the players' body language that it wasn't over yet. We can really build on the second half. If we can reproduce that on Saturday, it's looking good for three points."

Waldemar Sobota: "We got caught napping a bit in the first 15 minutes and then it's hard to come back against such a quality side, of course. After the penalty we showed we wanted to get the ball forward in the second half. We did our utmost to get the second goal but unfortunately we didn't manage it."

Bas Dost (Eintracht Frankfurt): "I felt some pain in my groin in training, but the medical department got me fit for today. For the first goal Martin Hinteregger crossed the ball and I just threw myself at it. The second came from a peach of a pass from Dominik Kohr. He played the ball at exactly the right moment and I finished it. It was like wow!"

Sebastian Rode (Eintracht Frankfurt): "We made things very difficult for ourselves. The penalty did its bit and it was like a cauldron after that. We sat on our lead too much and didn't come up with any answers going forward in the second half."
