BOYS IN BROWN KICK OFF IN BIELEFELD – HOME DERBY IN SEPTEMBER

The fixture list is out! The German Football League (DFL) released the schedule for the 2019-20 season on Friday lunchtime. Apart from the final two matchdays, the only fixed kick-off time announced is the one for the opening game between VfB Stuttgart and Hannover 96. The Boys in Brown begin the campaign with a trip to Arminia Bielefeld on the final weekend of July before hosting Greuther Fürth in the opening game in early August. The home derby against HSV is scheduled for mid-September, with the reverse fixture taking place in February. Here's the full fixture list at a glance:

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "It's a tough start to the campaign, especially when you consider that in VfB Stuttgart and HSV we'll face not one but two of the alleged big four in the first six games. The northern clash against Holstein Kiel is a big ask as well. In Arminia Bielefeld we're up against a team who achieved stability last year with a very good second half of the season. Newly promoted VfL Osnabrück will start the season on a roll brought about by the euphoria of going up. Dynamo Dresden are a side who had hoped to do better last season and will be sure to go into the new campaign targeting more."
