FC St. Pauli slipped to a 3-2 home defeat against a powerful Bochum side on Thursday evening. In a spectacular encounter, Guido Burgstaller and Kofi Kyereh twice gave the Boys in Brown the lead, only for Simon Zoller to level both times. The visitors played to their strengths after the interval and were ultimately worth their victory, even if the winner in the shape of a Daniel Buballa own goal was rather fortuitous.

FC St. Pauli ended the first half of the season on a successful note with a 2-0 defeat of Jahn Regensburg. In a hard-fought contest Guido Burgstaller gave the Boys in Brown a 27th minute lead from a well-worked free-kick before Omar Marmoush doubled the advantage four minutes after the restart. The win lifted Timo Schultz's side out of the drop zone for the first time since Round 6.

What a match! FC St. Pauli won a game of two hugely different halves 3-2 at Hannover 96. Rodrigo Zalazar and Guido Burgstaller gave the Boys in Brown the lead in a super first-half showing but the home side upped the pressure after the interval to restore parity through a Genki Haraguchi brace. Hannover squandered several chances to take the lead before substitute Igor Matanović got the all-important goal in time added on.
