FC St. Pauli recruit Loïc Favé as assistant coach

The Boys in Brown continue to progress their personnel planning for next season with the appointment of Eimsbütteler TV youth coach Loïc Favé, 27, as first-team assistant coach. Director of sport Andreas Bornemann and Favé have agreed terms on a contract to 30 June 2022.

Favé holds an A-Level coaching licence and began his career at ETV, advancing to the position of youth football coordinator and head coach of the Under-19 team, whom he guided to promotion to the U19 Bundesliga.

What they said

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: "I'm delighted by the decision of Timo Schultz to start on a new path in part by adding a young, ambitious, and innovative coach to his team. Loïc's work in the youth section at ETV speaks for itself. I'd like to thank the officials of ETV for making this move possible."

Head coach Timo Schultz: "I've known Loïc for some time and we've had regular contact as part of our work. After a successful spell at youth level Loïc is ready to take the next step in his development. He comes with lots of innovative ideas and a fresh outlook on the game that will enrich our daily work in training."

Assistant coach Loïc Favé: "As a native of Hamburg it's a wonderful chance for me to make the transition to the professional game in my home city. I'm really looking forward to working at such a tradition-laden club as FC St. Pauli, which with its fans and infrastructure offers fantastic opportunities. I want to progress as a coach and help to improve the team."
