SINGING AND DANCING AND AN INITIAL MEET-UP WITH US FANS

Day four of the US tour in Detroit saw the Boys in Brown visit the Motown Museum, pop by the Under Armour store, and meet their North American fans at Third Man Records.

Day 4 began with a dip into the music history of the United States when a St. Pauli delegation paid a morning visit to the Motown Museum and learned all about stars such as Stevie Wonder, the Jackson Five and the Temptations. In the legendary Studio A, Ewald Lienen, Philipp Heerwagen, Robin Himmelmann and Co. demonstrated their musical ability with a rendition of the Motown classic My Boy. Lienen also gave a glimpse of his dancing prowess with this little shimmy.

After a quick trip back the hotel, the entire party drove into downtown Detroit. Their first port of call was the Spirit of Michigan statue to pose for a photo in front of the monument which is also used as Detroit City FC's club crest. The Boys in Brown then went to lunch on foot and followed up with a visit to the Under Armour store.

While the players went back to the hotel after that, the rest of the delegation, who were joined at lunchtime by club president Oke Göttlich, continued to Third Man Records, a record store that hosted an initial meet-up with some of St. Pauli's North American supporters. Fans from Detroit, Chicago and Toronto, among other places, quickly struck up conversations with the FCSP party.

In the late afternoon, the Boys in Brown set off for the Detroit City Distillery, where they partied with fans of the two clubs over drinks and rock 'n' roll. Luca Zander tried out as a camera man, while Oke Göttlich and Detroit's Sean Mann welcomed all the supporters. And when the St. Pauli president finished off with a "Forza, Detroit!", "Forza, St. Pauli!", the place erupted.

St. Pauli partner Levi's used the party to offer fans a chance to give their jeans jackets a makeover. Lots of visitors had a skull and crossbones, for example, printed on their jackets.

The party at the Distillery wasn't the end of the day's activities for the Boys in Brown, as in the evening partner band Rise Against were playing a club concert in Detroit.

On Saturday, the Boys in Brown will contest their first friendly of the US tour when they take on Detroit City FC at the Keyworth Stadium. The match kicks off at 6pm local time (midnight German time).
