LUHUKAY DEMANDS SAME EFFORT AND DESIRE

In this interview with Jos Luhukay after the 4-3 win over Jahn Regensburg, our head coach speaks about...

...his first win since taking charge: "I'm obviously happy we managed to get the three points. We were very relieved after the final whistle. The lads had gone a long time without that feeling. I'm pleased the good impressions from training during the week were confirmed on the pitch. We worked hard for the win. We put a show on for the fans."

...the key to the win: "You have to invest a lot. Only then does a momentum develop on the pitch and in the ground where the players get the feeling they can win tackles. The ball rolls better and the moves start to work then. That enabled us to create chances and, at the end of the day, get the goals. I'd rather win 4-3 than 1-0. We coped well mentally with going behind, which was also very important, though I never had a bad feeling because of the impressions during the week."

...the team: "We have a few minor niggles but nothing serious. That was to be expected, though, because we had to make lots of deep runs and put a lot of work in. We'll have to wait and see how Marvin Knoll (abdominal muscle/groin) and Florian Carstens are. Both are going to have thorough examinations, so we can't say exactly what the problem is yet. Otherwise, everyone's OK as far as it goes."

...the games to come: "The team showed things that were missing for a while. Dominance should be our way. We want to be aggressive. In the remaining games we're playing for respect, not for a position in the table. I won't tolerate the slightest deviation from our path, as a team, or any reduction in effort compared with yesterday. We'll do our utmost to get the best possible return from the next few games. We want to go forward with the same effort and desire."
