HIMMELMANN PENS NEW DEAL

FC St. Pauli's planning for the new season is in full swing. Director of sport Uwe Stöver has now agreed a contract extension with one of the mainstays of the team. First-choice goalkeeper Robin Himmelmann is staying loyal to the Boys in Brown and has signed a new contract keeping him at the club until 30 June 2021. The 30-year-old has made 129 competitive appearances for the club since summer 2012, keeping 40 clean sheets.

"Robin is an important personality for us both on and off the pitch, as evidenced by his place on the team committee. He'll have been with the club seven years in summer and has earned his status with good performances," said director of sport Uwe Stöver. "He knows what the club gives him and we know what he gives us, and so we're delighted that Robin is staying with us for the next few years."

Markus Kauczinski is another one delighted his No1 is staying: "Robin is having a very good season and has got even better. He's one of the best keepers in the league for me and I'm glad we're continuing our journey together."

Goalkeeper Robin Himmelmann is also excited by the future: "I've opted for an eighth and ninth year at FC St. Pauli because I've come to love the club, the surroundings, the fans and the spirit here. We have a lot we want to achieve here and I'm looking forward to playing a role in future developments."
