FC St. Pauli sign Daniel-Kofi Kyereh

The Boys in Brown have added another important piece to their squad jigsaw with the signing of Daniel-Kofi Kyereh. The 24-year-old forward, whose contract with relegated second-division side Wehen Wiesbaden had expired, has put pen to paper on a three-year deal that will run until 30 June 2023.

Kyereh began his career in the youth sections of VfL Wolfsburg and TSV Havelse before moving to Wehen Wiesbaden in July 2018. In his debut season, the striker had a major hand in the club's promotion to the second division, contributing 15 goals and five assists. Last term, he added another six goals and seven assists.

Reaction to the deal:

Director of sport Andreas Bornemann: " We'd been watching Daniel for a long time and are delighted he's rejected other offers to join FC St. Pauli. With his dynamism and pace, he'll add another element to our attacking play."

Head coach Timo Schultz: "Kofi will greatly enrich our forward play. He's a versatile, strong-running striker who carries a goal threat and will give us additional tactical options in attack. And that's exactly what I expect of him: that he brings his strengths – such as his goal threat – to our game. We're looking forward to working with him!"

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh: "I realised what an extraordinary club this is the first time I ran out at the Millerntor in the season just ended. I also identify 100% with the values the club champions. I'm really happy the move has worked out and the officials came in for me so early. I'm curious to see what happens and am sure we'll develop well as a team, especially with these supporters behind us."

Daniel-Kofi Kyereh faced the Boys in Brown three times in the colours of Wehen Wiesbaden and also made six appearances for TSV Havelse against our Under-23s in the Regionalliga North.
