Choi to make Karlsruhe switch

Midfielder Kyoungrok Choi will leave FC St. Pauli to join third-division side Karlsruher SC with effect from 1 July.

"We'd like to thank Kyoungrok Choi for our time together," said director of sport Uwe Stöver. "The decision to move is the right one for his development and we'd like to wish him all the best.

"I feel that taking the step of joining Karlsruher SC is exactly the right one for my footballing development," said Choi. "Nevertheless, I will retain fond memories of my time in Hamburg because I signed pro terms here, and I'd like to thank FC St. Pauli for that."

The 23-year-old South Korean joined the club's Under-19s in 2013 and was named in the senior squad for the first time in 2014. In total, he made 42 second-division appearances (4 goals, 2 assists) and three DFB Cup appearances. He also played 41 times for the Under-23s, scoring ten goals and providing four assists.

FC St. Pauli would like to wish Kyoungrok Choi all the best for his personal and professional future!
