THY RETURNS ON LOAN TO END OF SEASON
FC St. Pauli have made their first signing of the winter break. Lennart Thy arrives on loan from Bundesliga outfit Werder Bremen to bolster the squad in the battle against relegation. Director of sport Andreas Rettig has reached an agreement with Bremen officials to take Thy on loan to 30 June 2017 but without option to buy.

In the last home fixture of the year against VfL Bochum the Boys in Brown went to the limit one more time, but ultimately a 1-1 draw was all they had to show for their efforts. After the game captain Sören Gonther looked back at the 90 minutes before turning his thoughts to the second half of the season and 2017.

STRONG SHOWING REWARDED WITH JUST ONE POINT
Despite a whole-hearted performance St. Pauli had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Bochum in front of a sell-out crowd at the Millerntor. Though Peniel Mlapa gave the visitors a 19th minute lead, Ewald Lienen's side dominated the proceedings after Timo Perthel was sent off on 28. Aziz Bouhaddouz equalised 16 minutes from time but the home side were unable to find a winner in the closing stages.

BOCHUM WIN THE TARGET AFTER SUCCESS AT FÜRTH
FC St. Pauli contest their final league fixture before the winter break on Saturday when they entertain VfL Bochum at the Millerntor. After the crucial 2-0 win at Fürth, Ewald Lienen's side are targeting another three points against Bochum to put themselves in an improved position for the second half of the season.
